Gene Simmons has had a very colourful musical history which began way back in the early seventies, just before he formed the legendary Kiss with Paul Stanley. Famous for his outrageous on stage antics, costumes and his beloved Kramer Axe bass as much as his music itself, the band soon became a unique hard rock group with a massive world-wide fan base, mostly crafted by the amazing Gene Simmons himself. The duo have since gone through various band members since, as most rock bands do through time, although it’s great to have them back touring this year.

It will be soon time to once again give hell some serious decibell my friends…

Some additional interesting Gene Simmons stuff: Gene Simmons whose real name is actually Chaim Witz was born in Hafia, Israel in 1949. Despite his un-American background, he became one of America’s top rock performers as wellas becoming a talented actor and successful businessman. Affectionately known as the “demon” when he was the bass player in our all time favourite hard rock band Kiss.

Knowing that his future lay as a world class entertainer even at a very early age, he emigrated to New York with what was left of his family since many were lost in the holocaust. Soon after, he decided to change his name to Gene Simmons in honour of rockabilly music legend, “Jumpin Gene Simmons.”

After putting together four different groups under various names, he decided to create the ultimate rock band with assistance from his closest friend, Paul Stanley. Together they formed the band we all know as Kiss with drummer Peter Criss and was later joined by lead guitarist Ace Frehey.

It was to be that Stanley would become the band’s front man, while Simmons used his business skills in propelling the band to becoming the biggest rock band the world has ever known.
